Big Water
Lake Nipissing is one of the most beautiful lakes you will encounter in Northern Ontario. Its name comes from the Algonquin Indian word meaning “big water.” There is a good reason for that – the lake covers more than 330 square miles, but with an average depth of only 15 feet.
Lake Nipissing is located Northwest of Algonquin Park and Northeast of Georgian Bay. On its Northeast shore is the city of North Bay, Ontario. To the west is Sudbury, Ontario.
Your Wilderness Trek
Modern explorers come in search of the gorgeous sunsets, but they are also drawn by the beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife. The lake is home to more than 40 different species of fish including walleye, bass, and northern pike. In the surrounding wilderness you may catch glimpses of the bear and deer that make the forest their home.
Come for the water sports and wilderness adventures, or come for the peaceful solitude of a lake district that is clear, unspoiled, tranquil and magical. The breathtaking beauty and clean fresh air will make you want to stay and make it your home.
